Innovation of technology in type 1 diabetes, specifically the introduction of Automated Insulin Delivery systems, has transformed the therapy and significantly improved both clinical and patient-related outcomes. In this symposium chaired by Prof. Robert Vigersky, the effect of this transformation on the pediatric population with type 1 diabetes is highlighted. Prof. Thomas Danne discusses the effect on the most vulnerable population of young children aged less than 7, with insights from studies conducted in his centre and the pivotal study. Prof. Ohad Cohen shares real-world evidence of more than 3,000 children aged 15 or less, as well as studies performed in the adolescents and young adult ages. Prof. Tadej Battelino describes best practices for the onboarding and follow-up of 780G system users.
