YOUNG NEUROSURGEONS’ TRAINING PROGRAMME
(YNTP)

DESCRIPTION

This internationally renowned fellowship programme stretches over a 12 to 18 months curriculum, supported by an internationally recognised faculty. The modular format of this programme offers training in a variety of topics and formats, including e-learning modules and didactic, hands-on training both in Medtronic’s education & training facilities in Switzerland and in selected training centres with an assigned clinical training consultant.

AUDIENCE

Functional neurosurgeons with a strong interest and a minimum of 6 months experience in Medtronic DBS therapies. 

This programme will help to develop the trainees into independent Medtronic DBS therapies implanters. 

OBJECTIVE

The goal of this programme is to provide training in all related aspects and steps in offering Medtronic DBS therapy with an emphasis on the neurosurgical aspect of the therapy.

  • By teaching participants, a multidisciplinary approach to DBS surgery, leading to best clinical outcomes
  • By helping participants understand the pathophysiology and medical management of the disease treated
  • By providing an insight into how surgery influences the pathophysiology of the disease and its interface with medical management
  • Give participants the opportunity to learn different approaches to Medtronic DBS therapies.
