Renal Artery Stenting
Treat the renal artery with the stent designed specifically for renal artery angioplasty, the Hippocampus™ renal RX stent system. Available on an 0.014" platform, the stent offers precise ostial placement, ostial scaffolding, enhanced pushability, and progressive flexibility on the distal balloon segment. Access the renal artery via a femoral, axiliar, brachial, or radial approach with an 80 or 145 cm long catheter shaft. Available in stent diameters from 4 to 7 mm, and stent lengths from 10 to 24 mm.
The Hippocampus™ renal stent system is intended for use in the treatment of stenoses in peripheral arteries, especially in patients with ostial renal artery stenosis and/or insufficient results after PTRA in the distal segment of the renal vessels (e.g., >30% residual stenosis, dissection, obstruction due to detached atherosclerotic plaque material, or reocclusion).
The Hippocampus™ renal RX is a rapid exchange stent platform that is dedicated to renal artery treatment.
Hippocampus™ Ostial Flaring
The Hippocampus™ is designed for proximal ostial flaring and scaffolding.
Hippocampus™ Closed Cell Design
The Hippocampus™ stent features a closed cell stainless steel design with proximal ostial flaring capability.
Hippocampus™ Progressive Flexibility
The distal balloon segment of the hippocampus™ stent system has progressive flexibility to help prevent loss of guidewire position during insertion.
Step One
Insert the guidewire into the renal artery.
Step Two
Advance the Hippocampus™ stent into the renal artery.
Step Three
Flare the ostial segment of the Hippocampus™ stent inside the renal artery ostium using a second PTA balloon with a diameter that matches the diameter of the vessel at the ostial segment.
