Carbothane Driveline

DISCOVER 40% GREATER FLEXIBILITY AND INCREASED DURABILITY1. THIS IS HVAD, ENHANCED WITH THE CARBOTHANE DRIVELINE.

The Carbothane driveline was designed with the patients' needs in mind and with the goal of continuing to improve driveline management.

UV-resistant outer sheath1.
UV-resistant outer sheath helps inhibit cracking and discoloration when exposed to sunlight (UV exposure).

Greater patient comfort1.
The driveline’s increased flexibility means that patients are better able to bend and secure it to their abdomen for a more comfortable placement.

Redundant pacemaker-grade wires.
The enhanced driveline incorporates all the features of the current driveline, including six pacemaker-grade wires, each of which is encased in insulation and individually wrapped in a honeycomb inner lumen for added protection.

Small outer diameter.
The Carbothane driveline has the same small outer diameter as the previous Pellethane® HVAD driveline (4.8 mm).

 

      

 

 

Since the Carbothane driveline launched in the U.S. in 2018, there has been a reduction in the reported incidence of driveline infections.

  • Faster access to important patient data:  New report delivery options are now provided to better fit into the clinical workflow.
  • Deeper insight into the chronology of events: Visualisation tools and a detailed list of alarm and event notifications are now available.
  • Greater convenience: The site offers convenient summary statistics for easier interpretation of pump performance.
