Join WINN and become part of a community that is supported by KOLs and experts who want to support female physicians throughout their career pathway. Together, we’re providing mentorship through webinars with key speakers who will share advice and real-life examples of female success within INR. And we are delivering training and education on the wider skills required to elevate a career in INR.

WHY ARE WOMEN'S NETWORKSSO IMPORTANT?

DR. RIITTA RAUTIO

MD PhD Adjunct professor Head of the Department
of Interventional Radiology

Turku University Hospital, Finland

Not many INRs are women.

Facing other women INRs with diff erent backgrounds and from different surroundings gives us the insight that others might encounter similar struggles. It can boost our self-confidence and capacity to reach our full potential as INRs.
A woman INR might feel like a stranger in the wrong place at the wrong time. There are not many of us, so we need to build both professional and personal connections to achieve meaningful collaboration. These networks can help us with new opportunities and career progression.
Women’s networks are less about being the best INRs but more about sharing.

Medtronic has a company culture that embraces diversity, inclusion & career development, and we have invested a lot in these domains. Because of this, we have been able to develop a very strong network, the Medtronic Women’s Network (MWN).

From our first Advisory board meeting we have learned that there is a need in the INR community for women to connect and interact. At Medtronic, we want to share our expertise in Interventional Neuroradiology and developing career pathways for women by providing a platform and network for female INRs to connect with both female and male role models within the field. Diversity is a critical component to improve care. In the end isn’t that what we are all striving for – improving patient care and outcomes?

We will not change the landscape overnight, but together with the support of the INR role models of today, I’m convinced the Women in Interventional Neuroradiology Network (WINN) will make a big difference with and for you in the long run.
