We expect all employees to monitor product quality at each stage in our value chain — design, manufacturing, pre-clinical and clinical trials, and post-market surveillance. Through our “Quality Begins with Me” culture, all Medtronic employees own this responsibility. At Medtronic, quality is nonnegotiable. Our global quality strategy guides our approach to creating reliable, effective products. In FY20 Medtronic:

  • Developed remote monitoring and assessment capabilities to support the continuation of clinical studies in a safe manner during the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Used predictive engineering on more than 65% of new products, helping reduce the time to market for vital treatments
  • Employed more than 2,000 clinical employees who are committed to ensure our clinical trials are undertaken ethically
