Medtronic has the lowest inappropriate shock rates in patients with single and dual/triple chamber Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillators using a novel suite of detection algorithms according to PainFree SST Trial primary results.
According to ‘Living with an ICD’ study, majority of patients share positive feedback and declare being reassured and living better with the device.¹
Shocks are life beneficial but can lead to patient pain and anxiety while decreasing quality of life. Furthermore, shocks can lead to unnecessary hospital admissions.2
The annualized inappropriate shock rate in patients with inherited arrhythmogenic disease (IAD) who were treated with a transvenous ICD was as low as 1.6%3, the lowest rate published in literature so far.
Newer algorithms and programming in Medtronic devices, are equally as good in identifying life-threatening arrhythmias in patients regardless of whether they have IAD.3
Medtronic transvenous ICDs, have the lowest inappropriate shock rate published so far, with no statistical difference in patients with or without IAD
