The Quantum Heater-Cooler

The Quantum Heater-Cooler is a safe and effective solution that eliminates M. chimaera bioaerosol formation and transmission during cardiopulmonary bypass surgery.*

The Quantum Heater-Cooler addresses and mitigates Mycobacterium infection related risks (and potentially other infectious water-borne organisms) by way of implementing improved design features to control the root causes of infection without the need for burdensome cleaning.

GLYCOL-BASED NON-TOXIC HEAT TRANSFER FLUID THAT OFFERS LONG-TERM RESISTANCE TO BACTERIA*

The Quantum Heater-Cooler addresses the risk of infection primarily by using an alternative heat transfer fluid which is composed of a patented non-toxic glycol-based solution.*

Based on the results from bacteria inactivation for 6-,9- and 12-months aged samples, the glycol-based heat transfer fluid retains its antibacterial properties up to 12 months.*

NO FANS TO DISTURB LAMINAR FLOW IN THE OPERATING ROOM

The big cooling fans, which are normally used to increase efficacy of the radiator to dissipate the heat produced through water cooling, have been eliminated from the Quantum Heater-Cooler.

The Quantum Heater-Cooler uses a fan-less cooling source which eliminates the need for regular vapor compression refrigeration system and associated large fans that lead to laminar flow disruption.

CLOSED FLUID CIRCULATION TO ELIMINATE EXTERNAL AEROSOL RELEASE

The fluid circulation in the Quantum Heater-Cooler takes place in a closed and sealed space.

The only contact of the fluid with air in the External environment takes place during thermal expansion/contraction of the fluid due to temperature change and is controlled via a 0.2 μm filter.
