The flexible range of Quantum Perfusion Modules is a combination of world leading perfusion technologies and integrated patient safety systems designed to support a wide range of clinical therapies that use extracorporeal circulation for patient life-support within the operating room and the intensive care unit.

It provides a safe method to gently begin circulatory support, allowing a user-controlled rate of mixing of the crystalloid prime with the patient’s blood volume, while providing venous reservoir level protection.
It allows the perfusionist to select a requested weaning flow rate using a closed-loop flow-controlled smart Venous Occluder in conjunction with a pump modulation strategy that allows the user to choose when to balance venous return with arterial pump flow and commence the weaning procedure.
During weaning and when off bypass, the system includes a function that allows for the incremental translocation of volume, either to deliver or remove volume from the patient circuit.
It uses a two-position level sensor system offering a dynamic response. When triggered by a falling level in the venous reservoir, the upper sensor activates the reduction in arterial flow to match venous flow returning to the reservoir and if the lower, second level sensor is activated, pump flow is stopped.
After Weaning Mode has been activated, the optional Vent Interlock function directs the Quantum Workstation to control the Arterial Pump so that the Arterial flow rate equals the sum of the Venous flow rate plus the Vent flow rate. At a Zero Venous Blood Flow rate, the Arterial Pump matches the flow rate of the Vent. The Low-Level Reservoir Function and reaction of the smart occluder provides additional safety.
During circulatory arrest, pump flow will be auto adjusted by the measurement of pressure to compensate for downstream flow requirements, including secondary pressure pumps and purge flow.
It provides the option to maintain a target pressure in a roller-pump system by simply activating the mode, once the desired pressure has been achieved. Adjustments to the target are allowed by utilizing convenient and intuitive Increase and decrease buttons.
It allows for a user-selected retrograde flow rate of arterial blood to assist in gentle, controlled displacement of the prime in the arterial line. This mode is used with the addition of fine control provided by the Arterial Smart Occluder. Upon completion of the process, exiting RAP Mode returns the system to the previous operating parameters.
The versatility of the Quantum Perfusion System allows you to create a set-up suitable for the type of operation and the patient's needs.
It is easy to deduce that the extracorporeal mini-circulation and the generally minimally invasive procedures go very well with the Quantum technology which enhances the benefits of the minimally invasive approach in its entirety:
