Freezor Cardiac Cryoablation Catheters

Cardiac Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation

Overview

The Freezor™ family of cardiac cryoablation catheters consists of three different focal cryoablation catheters: Freezor™, Freezor™ Xtra, and Freezor™ MAX.  These single-use catheters are flexible, steerable devices specifically designed for ablating cardiac tissue.

The various combinations of diameters, tip sizes, and reaches provide physicians with the flexibility they need to ablate a broad range of target cardiac arrhythmias – including atrioventricular nodal reentry tachycardia (AVNRT), accessory pathways, atrial flutter, AFib, AT, and VT. All of the catheters have the ability to record from the tip and three other recording electrodes to allow for quadrupole electrogram recording. A thermocouple is integrated into each tip for temperature monitoring.

The Freezor catheters, used in conjunction with the CryoConsole, are the only focal catheters that utilize the cryo energy source. Thanks to the cryo energy source the FreezorTM family of cardiac cryoablation catheters have specific benefits:

  • Hypothermic site testing to confirm the target ablation site
  • Unique catheter stability due to Cryoadhesion resulting in precise lesion creation
  • Minimized incidence of thrombus formation
  • Minimized risk of damage to cardiac structures
  • Minimized patient discomfort

The Freezor Xtra™ Cardiac Cryoablation Catheter is most commonly used for supraventricular tachycardia (SVTs) such as:

  • Atrioventricular Nodal Reentry Tachycardia (AVNRT)
  • Accessory Pathways
  • Focal Atrial Tachycardia

The catheter provides the following features:

  • Temperature-controlled in CryoMapping Mode
  • Flow-controlled in CryoAblation Mode

Freezor MAX Cardiac Cryoablation Catheter

The Freezor MAX™ Cardiac Cryoablation Catheter was designed to treat atrial flutter and is used when larger lesions are required, mainly for:

  • Atrial Flutter
  • Right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT)
  • Ventricular tachycardia (VT)
  • Atrial Fibrillation (AF)
  • Accessory Pathways

The catheter provides the following features:

  • Flow-controlled
